How does the Enhanced Breast Augmentation procedure work?
This new technology increases the amount of fat that survives transfer, by using ESWT (extracorporeal shock wave therapy) to pre-treat the fat. This activates the fat prior to transfer, and results in increased fat survival post-transfer. Not only does it promise a better survival rate, but it’s quick, painless, and more affordable.
Prior to beginning liposuction, both the breasts and the area to be liposuctioned are treated with ESWT. ESWT is painless and takes only a few minutes. Then under local anesthesia and mild sedation, we remove the fat cells from the excess areas using liposuction. First, we mark the areas for liposuction. Then we inject a local anesthetic into both the area to be liposuctioned and the area to be augmented. Then we remove the fat cells from the excess areas, and the fat is collected in a sterile container. From there, the fat is separated from the fluid and injected into the area to be augmented, using special cannulas (thin blunt tubes). Research has shown pretreating the fat with ESWT increases the survival of the fat after grafting. It also causes growth that helps the fat establish itself in the breast.
Enhanced Breast Augmentation results can also get a boost from supplements that help fat survival. Available at any pharmacy, these have been shown to enhance fat cell survival, which means greater, long-lasting results. You should take this supplement every night for the first six weeks after your procedure.

Both mild swelling and bruising are common, however, most breasts do not swell or bruise badly. Usually, the bruising is gone within two weeks and the swelling within six weeks.
