Many patients travel to Innovations Medical from across the United States for awake cosmetic procedures performed without general anesthesia. Our team is experienced in coordinating care for out-of-town patients and makes the travel and scheduling process as simple and predictable as possible.

Many patients specifically travel to Dallas for our expertise and personalized care.
Our Dallas facility, located at Coit Rd. and I-635, provides a comfortable, modern environment with experienced staff who guide you through every step of your surgery journey.
If you are coming from outside the Dallas area, there are several convenient ways to begin your consultation:
Virtual consultations: Complete your initial consultation by phone or video before you travel. Practice staff will guide you on how to send pictures, medical records, and answers to key questions in advance.
In-office pre-op exam: We recommend performing your pre-operative exam at least one day before your scheduled procedure to ensure safety and preparedness. Special arrangements can be made upon request.
Our team will help coordinate your visit and answer any scheduling questions.
Dallas is easily accessible from most major U.S. cities.
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) – Full national and international service
Dallas Love Field (DAL) – Southwest Airlines only
Both airports are within reasonable driving distance of our office and nearby hotels.
For patient safety, rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft are not permitted for transportation to or from surgery.
Approved transportation options include:
Licensed taxi service
Private car service
Professional post-surgery transportation service, including Cosmetic Companions
Our staff can help answer questions about appropriate transportation planning prior to your visit.
Out-of-town patients typically complete an initial consultation by phone or video prior to traveling. Photos and medical information are submitted in advance to allow for proper planning.
Required pre-operative bloodwork for traveling patients is completed at a Labcorp location near the patient’s home and is generally covered by insurance.
For out-of-town patients, the pre-operative visit is completed the morning of the procedure. Local patients may schedule pre-op on a prior day.
Typical procedure day timeline:
Arrival time: Morning (procedures typically begin around 8:30 AM)
Breakfast: Patients may eat breakfast at their hotel prior to arrival
Procedure: Performed under local anesthesia (awake)
Our team will review final details and answer any remaining questions before the procedure begins.
Most awake liposuction and body contouring patients are able to return home the day after surgery.
For patients undergoing an awake tummy tuck, it may be beneficial to remain in Dallas for up to 4 days to allow for drain management and early post-operative care.
Individual recovery timelines are reviewed during consultation so travel plans can be made confidently.
All out-of-town patients receive two complimentary nights of hotel accommodations arranged by our office.
This allows patients to focus on recovery without the stress of coordinating lodging. Additional nights may be added at the patient’s discretion if needed.
