There’s a lot you can do on your own to keep your skin looking great in between appointments with us.

Tips to Keep Your Skin Looking Great:

1. Establish a solid skincare routine:

One of the best ways you can keep your skin looking great is to establish a solid skincare routine by cleansing, restoring,  and moisturizing your skin with high-quality cleansers, toners, serums, and moisturizers. Ask us for our recommendations about what products you should use and what you should avoid.

2. Use sunscreen on a daily basis:

Sunscreen. We will say it again: sunscreen.  Sunscreen plays a protective role for your skin, keeping it safe from the damaging rays of the sun. Wearing it means a reduction in the risk of developing skin cancer and also means a decreased occurrence of skin pigmentation problems such as freckles or sunspots.

3. Eat a healthy diet:

Your skin is no different from any other organ in your body; it needs vitamins and other nutrients to function correctly. Choose a healthy diet full of vegetables, fruits, lean meats and whole grains to support your skin. Some people have skin conditions that require them to go a step further with their diet. For example, people who have rosacea should avoid processed food and gluten, minimize dairy, and avoid peanuts. Supplements. Adding vitamins and minerals on top of your healthy diet can help give your skin a boost, too. Vitamins and other anti-oxidant nutrients can help prevent cell damage and cancerous lesions and reduce stress on our skin caused by free radicals.

4. Drink water – stay hydrated:

Drink Water. When your skin cells become dehydrated, your appearance is also affected. The skin looks dull and drab instead of bright and youthful. A good rule of thumb on how much water you should be drinking is to divide your body weight in half – that is the number of ounces you should try to drink per day. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, you should try to drink at least 75 ounces of water each day. Note: Avoid drinking caffeinated beverages in excess because these types of drinks can dehydrate you.
